ICYMI – Orange County Register endorses Diane Harkey for Congress in CA49

Dana Point, CA — Republican Diane Harkey has scored her second major endorsement in the last few days. Yesterday House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy endorsed Harkey and with today’s publication she earned the endorsement from the Orange County Register.

The Register stated, in part: “Diane Harkey is the best-suited to represent the district and fight in the interests of taxpayers. She knows the issues facing the district and she has a track record to have confidence in. We urge voters in the 49th Congressional District, from northern San Diego County to southern Orange County, to elect Diane Harkey June 5 to represent them in Congress.”

The complete endorsement can be read here:

Diane Harkey has become the front-runner in the election to replace U.S. Representative Darrell Issa, having received endorsements from Issa and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, as well as the Republican Party of both San Diego and Orange Counties.

As a member of the California Board of Equalization, Diane Harkey is the highest-ranking Republican woman in the state. She represents 9.5 million constituents including the entire 49th Congressional District in San Diego and Orange counties.  Harkey graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine and enjoyed a successful 30-year career in corporate finance and banking prior to entering public service. Working in good and bad economic climates with individuals, small-business owners, and leaders of publicly-traded companies helped Harkey form the pragmatic business perspective that she will bring to Congress.
