SAN DIEGO, CA — Maggie’s List, one of the leading political action committees focused on electing conservative women, has endorsed Diane Harkey for Congress in the 49th District.
“The Maggie’s List board is incredibly proud of our candidates that we have chosen to endorse for the 2018 mid-term election cycle. Their experience, commitment to service, conservative values and ability to inspire other women leaders makes them very compelling candidates in this crucial election cycle. Supporting and electing these outstanding women to Congress and statewide executive office will not only expand the conservative majority but they will also safeguard and continue to promote our values of fiscal conservatism, less government, more personal responsibility and a strong national security,” stated Sandra B. Mortham, National Chair for Maggie’s List and former elected Florida Secretary of State.
The endorsement from Maggie’s list joins the momentum Diane Harkey’s campaign has experienced leading into the primaries. Diane Harkey enjoys endorsements from current U.S. Representative for the 49th District Darrell Issa, the San Diego County Republican Party, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and many more.
As a member of the California Board of Equalization, Diane Harkey is the highest-ranking elected Republican woman in the state. She represents 9.5 million taxpayers in Orange, San Diego as well as several other counties and won her election for the Board of Equalization with over 61% of the vote.
Diane Harkey graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine and enjoyed a successful 30-year career in corporate finance and banking prior to entering public service. Working in good and bad economic climates with individuals, small-business owners, and leaders of publicly-traded companies helped form the pragmatic business perspective that Harkey will bring to Congress.
