Oceanside, CA – – Republican Congresswoman Mimi Walters has joined Congressman Darrell Issa in supporting Diane Harkey for Congress in the 49th district.
“Diane Harkey is the only candidate who has what it takes to win the 49th and provide the common sense, pro-taxpayer representation the people of Orange and San Diego counties need,” said Walters.
“I strongly support Diane Harkey’s candidacy. I know Diane Harkey to be a dedicated public servant and a tenacious candidate. I look forward to working with her,” said Congressman Darrell Issa, who announced his retirement at the end of his current term.
As Chairwoman of the California Board of Equalization, Diane Harkey is the highest ranking Republican elected official in the state. She represents 9.5 million constituents in Orange, San Diego as well as several other counties and won her election for the Board of Equalization with over 61% of the vote.
Diane Harkey graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine and enjoyed a successful 30-year career in corporate finance and banking prior to entering public service. Working in good and bad economic climates with individuals, small business owners, and leaders of publicly-traded companies helped form the pragmatic business perspective that Harkey will bring to Congress.
